About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live life from the perspective of eternity.

ABOUT ME

I've been in London a couple of years since leaving University in Bristol. I work in the City and live just south of the Thames in Kennington (not Kensington!) between the Imperial War Museum and Elephant and Castle.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to think about things from different points of view. Always be open to new experiences and opportunities and take some risks along the way. People are what is most important in the world so let them into your life and learn from their experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm lucky to share a nice house in central London with recent graduates and young professionals. Our living room is big enough to be able to have guests to stay. I also like to meet local people when I go travelling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CS was recommended to me by a couple of my friends. My experience so far has been really positive. I've met some wonderful people and enjoyed hearing the stories of their travels.

Interests

I spend alot of time going to dance class. I also love art, going to galleries and museums and live music.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a fairly eclectic taste in music but am biased towards Jazz, both traditional such as Theolonious Monk or Louis Armstrong and more modern things like electroswing.

My favourite group at the moment is Scott Bradle's Postmodern Jukebox. I also really like artists like Grimes and LaRoux and compilations such as Kitsune Maison.

I have a joke that my favourite films either include Natalie Portman or ballet or both, because Leon, The Red Shoes and Black Swan are definitely amongst my favourites.

As for literature I like fantasy novels like The Earthsea novels by Ursula Le Guin and of course Tolkein. I'm also a big fan of Robert Pirsig and enjoyed both Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and the squeal Lila immensely.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most exciting and challenging adventure I've been on recently was off-road motorbiking round the wild coast of South Africa while raising money for charity.

The Greek Islands are my favourite place to travel in the summer. It's so fun just going from one Island to another by boat in the sun.

London is my home now and I can't think of living anywhere else at the momeent. I love wandering the streets and taking in the architecture of this marvellous city.

Teach, Learn, Share

A hobby of mine is making cocktails. If you would like to contribute to my collection of spirits and liqueurs from around the world I would be happy to show you how to make a cocktail.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you would like to have a walk around London I can suggest a good route. If I have time I will usually offer to take you on a walk to see some of the famous sites. There is plenty to do in London for free if you know where to look.
