I am an MFA candidate in Performance and Choreography at SUNY Brockport. My specialties are capoeira, somatics and post-modern dance. I enjoy making chocolate truffles and reading about the history of dance and Brazil.

This year I am looking for academic jobs at various universities and attending a fair number of conferences to make connections and to keep up with professional development. I began staying in hostels last year and thought I would give couchsurfing a try since some of the universities I am looking at are in relatively remote places without cheap hotels.

I love dance, and really, almost all forms of movement. When not living in rural areas, I bike more than I drive. I rock-climb poorly, I run intermittently, but I train in some form of dance every day. I am also a pretty avid reader, I read much more than I watch tv and am always willing to discuss what I am reading if it is of any interest.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman are my favorite authors of fiction. I actually mostly read history, and books on dance theory and training. I listen to a lot of Brazilian music and audio books.

I went to Brazil with no knowledge of the language and lived there for a year in order to learn Portuguese to further my knowledge of capoeira, the dance and martial-art I fell in love with and decided to turn into a career

I am working towards becoming a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist. I also teach handbalancing, capoeira, forró (sort of like Brazilian salsa) personal training, and post-modern dance.

I can also share my sure secret truffle recipe. It is actually very simple and you probably don't actually need it, but I can share anyway.
