Well, we're all going to die, one way or another. I just want to experience and learn as much as I can. I dream to have a pub of my own somewhere to spend the rest of my life. My mission now is to find the perfect spot.

ABOUT ME

Funny (or attempting to), talkative, curious - more than George but less than Benjamin Button's case. I've just finished my PhD, but beside science, my great and true passion is music. I'm always listening to something (even noise). I enjoy to comment on new albums or new bands, attend to bands live acts, talk about music in general. I play piano and guitar (my last acquisition was a bombardine but I'm still not very good at it). I enjoy writing songs and sing about things that are happening in my life. I've published my own material at http://bombarda.bandcamp.com , but don't expect so much from it. I dream to write a decent song someday.

PHILOSOPHY

I do believe - despite of all clichés - that everything that happens, happens for a reason. If we crash into someone on our living days, we should extract something from that encounter, even if just a few bruises.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met a lot of CouchSurfers. I hosted a few, but have hung out with a lot more. I cannot always host, but I'm definitely up for a coffee or a pint.

Interests

Music. And sophisticated nowadays culture, in general: high rated IMDB films, books that later turn bad films and dictionaries (very found of the former), a bunch of TV shows with weird accents and weirder jokes, etc.
- Now seriously, I really enjoy stories and talking to people, understanding how they think and what can I learn from them. I do love cheese too.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really can't say what music do I like more. Listen too much too different.
About the cinema, I really enjoy art films, surreal stuff, documentaries, dramas. WARNING: I do talk while watching a movie. I loved Shawshank Redemption (who didn't?),El Angel Exterminador, Forest Gump,
Hmm about books: as a songwriter, I really enjoy writing stories. My favourite books are: A Fórmula de Deus, by José Rodrigues dos Santos; Lolita, by Vladimir Nabokov; Angels and Demons, by Dan Brown; I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter too.
I don't like watching TV, but I like several TV series, such as Friends, The IT Crowd, Big Bang Theory, Monty Python's Flying Circus, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I HAVE TRAVELED THE WHOLE WORLD!!!
That's a lie. But I'd like to say this someday. I've ridden the entire Portuguese Vicentina Coast by bike in 4 days with my friends João. Once I tracked the Mondego River, by bike, with another friend, from the river's mouth to its spring. Well, actually we stayed 300m from the spring: a group of very big dogs kept us afraid to reach the destiny. It was funny though.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach portuguese, how to play guitar and piano, how to ride a bicycle, how to cook, and some other stuff too.
I would like to speak other languages, cook different dishes, discover music from other countries.
