CURRENT MISSION

lMy current mission is to spend the next three months in New york City writing and performing music. I have just travelled down from Toronto, here I began the current quest I am on.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in a rural English village in berkshire, about an hour outside London. From here enjoyed a good education at the local school, I took part in all types of sport from a young age but excelled particularly in football, rugby and running. After leaving school I embarked on six months of travelling which took me from south America, to Australia, New Zealand and through South-east Asia. Upon returning I embarked on three years of university education in Swansea Wales where I studied English literature. I should mention that throughout my life i have always been passionate about Singing and music and it was at university that I began to investigate this as a viable career. After leaving university I went to work up in London at a part-time members club so as to focus on writing and music in the afternoons and evenings. I lived in London for about three years in which time I have been lucky enough to gig at some fantastic venues with some amazing artists. The reason for embarking on a trip that I have is mainly to step outside the London scene and focus on writing a new album away from my comfort zone. So here I am looking for like minded people in New York or just people interested in helping my experience the city.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is a very liberal one. I am all about meeting as many people as i can and learning from their experiences in order to further my own understanding. I believe in treating everyone equally and with respect.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have no actual experience couchsurfing as this would be my first time but I was advised by many friends who have successfully travelled throughout the world.

I have many interests, music being my foremost, but writing, reading, art, all types of sport, exploring new cultures and learning from others. With music I am attempting to write an album to go to the uk with and record. So I am looking to play with other musicians and perform as much as i can. I also have a burgeoning interest in wild life and have recently got into photography.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I am a huge fan of all types of music, but particular favourites of mine include the tallest man one earth, Idiot Wind, Bon Iver. I love hip hop, folk, jazz, dance, classical you name it. I adore film too and again have a very eclectic taste. I will always give new literature a try but my favourite authors are Will Self, David Foster Wallace, Earnest Hemingway and many more.

I have travelled the world and seen some amazing things, but recently landing in New York has to be up there, a dream come true to be here. I once played rugby in front of 10,000 people which was quite an amazing thing, but more recently have loved performing my songs on the stages of London.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I would love to share my own life experiences, I can offer some musical tuition, and could offer good company. I would like to learn as much as I can from people. As a songwriter, meeting new influences is key to my writing maturity and developments. I believe that learning from new acquaintances is a very inspiring practice.
