I have just moved across the world to the UK from New Zealand

ABOUT ME

I have just cycle toured over 3000km around New Zealand and now I want to cycle tour all over Europe.

I am often a reserved person at first, but enjoy joking around (I have a dry/punny sense of humour). I Have been running my own business repairing and making stringed instruments the past 9 years. I was a mechanic previously a mechanic and worked with JUCY rentals (if you have been to NZ you probably know these).

I enjoy walking, hiking, swimming, and just any adventure... Im up for almost anything.. I am into photography and I mainly just take pictures of the night sky. More of a nature boy but love going through old european villages and cities.

Interested in sustainable living techniques and looking to learn many things.

PHILOSOPHY

Follow your instincts, Think for yourself, enjoy the quiet. On my previous travels I discovered how positive thinking really affects you and your decisions. If im in a less than ideal situation, more often than not something good will come from it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I discovered couchsurfing when I was last traveling, and I used it mainly just to meet up with people. Havnt had the space or permission to host people since I have been back in NZ unfortunately...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed when I was in Poland and it was really nice, my host was very kind and let me stay an extra 2 nights and took me out to meet friends which I enjoyed. More often I used couchsurfing just to meet up with people to hang out and for events also.

Interests

Instrument making is my main passion and I was fortunate enough to make it my job. I like studying Guitars, Mandolin, Lute, Oud's... I am also into stargazing, astronomy, photography, chess, mountain biking, cycle touring.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC
Music I like is mostly prog rock but also I dont limit myself to specific genres but I konw what I do and dont like.

My favourites are Supertramp, my morning jacket, ELO, porcupine tree, tool, primus, opeth, king crimson, the hollies, and more recently Tame impala..

Also enjoy italian/classical mandolin, guitar, and lute music.

I try not to count out an artist depending on what genre they are in, I like a bit of all genres from folk, to a bit of heavy metal.

MOVIES

Mainly british comedies and Sci-Fi.

Monty pythons holy grail, space balls, wayne's world, loaded weapon, hot shots, star wars, interstellar

BOOKS

I definitely spend the majority of my reading time learning about musical instrument construction and chess books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Slept under the stars in the middle of NZ winter with the snow capped Kaikoura ranges in sight.
