ABOUT ME

I'm primarily a musician, both in my professional interest and in my personal interest. I love music, and writing music is probably the most satisfying thing I've ever done. I'm very analytical and thoughtful about things, which sometimes leads me to be rather introspective and philosophical about things. I very much value rationality, perhaps more than anything else. I think I consider myself a Christian, and I was born and raised that way, but I have a very open-minded and somewhat agnostic perspective on things.
I can be pretty nerdy, as I play a lot of role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons, as well as play a lot of board games and video games. However, the nerdy side of me is slowly being eclipsed by music, as it continues taking more and more of my time and my interest.

PHILOSOPHY
Enjoy life, live and let live. Never stop learning, always try to make the world a better place, above and beyond your own needs.

I'll leave this here for fun, but this was what I had 4-5 years ago:
Be opened minded, be rational, love people, try and meet your potential and don't set limits on yourself. Thinking is important, arrogance and ignorance are dangerous.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm just a surfer. I'm fresh out of College after attending Berklee and am anxious to explore the country and meet new people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My siblings, especially my twin brother David have done alot of it, he tandem biked across the country and couchsurfed most of the way. I couchsurfed in Nashville for a few days, but have little experience outside that. I'm looking to get more though!

Haven't updated this in a while, so I'll do so now: Exploring, meeting new people, conversation, good food, movies, music, rocking out, and just travel in any and all forms.

I will leave my older notes here, as they are mostly the same:
Well, music of course. Some of my musical influences are: Switchfoot, Tool, Dream Theater, Bob Dylan, Muse, Gungor, Mutemath, Relient K, Coldplay, Bill Evans, Hillsong United, David Crowder Band, John Meyer, New World Son, Keith Green, Opeth, the Devil Wears Prada, August Burns Red, Five Iron Frenzy, Sigur Ros...
Classical, Jazz, Gospel, and Christian music in general (grew up in the church and am classically trained as well as studied jazz at college). Some classical composers: Chopin, Rachmaninov especially, Debussy, Beethoven.
I also really enjoy philosophy and sometimes theology, and love a good discussion/debate done in the right manner. I just really enjoy discussing with people what they think about the world and why they believe whatever they believe. I think people can learn a lot from each other, as long as they're willing and open-minded.
On the nerdy side of things, I watch a lot of Netflix, and also a lot of anime. Some of my favorites are: Heroes, Gurren Lagaan, Ghost Hound, Naruto, and Trigun.
I've also spent a lot of time playing Dungeons & Dragons and other role-playing games, including GURPS, Savage Worlds, and a Pokemon RPG. I'm also in the process of designing my own game, but it takes a lot of time so I don't know if I'll ever complete it.
Movies: Braveheart, Momento, Inception, Scott Pilgram vs. the World, Lord of the Rings (especially the two towers), the Matrix trilogy, 8 mile, the Curve, IP Man, Spiderman, lots more...

Getting the opportunity to attend Berklee college of Music and be a part of that community was pretty amazing I'd say, at the least.
