About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I have started my new mission, for the summer of 2014 I will be hithchiking as far east as possible. Starting in France in August. I am open to others joining me on this epic adventure.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm a very laid back guy from Australia. I have spent the past four years travelling my own country, South east Asia, India and now, Europe.

I love to meet new people and am constantly striving to learn new things.

I am 23 years old, and currently travelling alone.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't really have a personal philosophy of my own. But Bill Hicks once said this awesome speech, and since hearing that, life's a lot less confusing and a lot more enjoyable.

The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly colored, and it's very loud, and it's fun for a while. Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, "Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, "Hey, don't worry; don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we … kill those people. "Shut him up! I've got a lot invested in this ride, shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry, look at my big bank account, and my family. This has to be real." It's just a ride. But we always kill the good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok … But it doesn't matter, because it's just a ride. And we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. Just a simple choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one. Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Considering that I am currently backpacking and do not have a base of my own. I am limited to the things I can offer you. Which is good company; an educated opinion on world events. Good jams? if you play music. And good vegetarian food, as I now pride myself in my cooking.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had endless couchsurfing experiences. Unfortunately, not so much with people who use this social network.

The last great experience I had was with three Danish people, two girls called Nico and Petrine and a man called Johan.

I put them up in London with the little space that I had. They were more than grateful for the space and paid me back with their amazing company, great ideas, and good food.

I kept in touch with them on their trip and followed them up to the lake district in england, where my parents live, and put them up for a few nights there to show them the beautiful valleys and fells.

Interests

My interests are much similar to other backpackers, I am massively interested in new places and what they behold. I am an avid reader, and an aspiring poet.

I love to listen, play, talk about music,

I also enjoy any kind of outdoor sport, from rock climbing to lawn bowls.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all music, like most people, but certain types stand out a lot for me, like blues, jazz, doom/stoner, trip hop, beats, hip hop and spoken word.

Right now I'm reading a lot of Latin American literature from the 70's to the 90's. Talks of revolution and the evolution of thought always interest me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Looking down on at endless valleys and mountain range from the top of rohtang pass in Himachal Pradesh.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Guitar, how to tie knots, show you why you really shouldn't get tattos.

Learn: Anything and everything.

Share: Enthusiasm, laughter, my cigarettes. Whats mine is yours.
