Brief cross-section: meditation esp. tibetan buddhism, sustainability and renewable energy, surrealism, land and environmental art, puppies, mental flexibility, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Thomas Keating, backpacking, gluten free pastries, closed loop economies, meeting people with diverse backgrounds
activities: hiking and backpacking, meditation, coffee shops, sitting under trees, making gluten free pancakes, science writing and popular science, documentaries
terrible-at but interested-in: ultimate frisbee and basketball, lately salsa and swing dancing
academic-ish interests: synthetic biology and minimal life; biologically-inspired engineering and design (water-proofing from lotus leaves, , robotics from insects, city plans and economies inspired by ecosystems, etc); skeptical inquiry/free thought; debates about the utility of religion; closed loop economies; total-cost accounting, generative art & sculpture; sports analytics esp. basketball; scientific investigation of buddhism; lots of sustainability and energy systems stuff (future impacts of climate change, carbon taxes, etc)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
canoeing and portaging through the thousand lakes region of minnesota in the summer, and then went dog sledding over the same lakes when they froze over the following winter

Currently want to learn about: spanish, hitchhiking, harmonica
