About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Touch every continent. Experience life.

ABOUT ME

I am an easy going guy who likes to enjoy himself, although I can be reserved at times. I enjoy wit, humor, respect, and unique ideas. I try to remain respectful of other people and their opinions, but I also love to debate and discuss ideas. As such, I like to keep an open mind and try new experiences. Perhaps that's why I enjoy traveling.

My occupational travels have brought me to teaching. I work for an alternative education school for adjudicated youth with traumatic backgrounds. Super stressful, but rewarding too.

When not working my free time is split between my dual personality; one side yearns to hike, camp, and be adventurous outdoors while the other wants to vegetate with a movie, internet surfing or games. The former is more rewarding, but the latter is easier to get stuck doing.

I'd like to touch every continent, and see as many of the items listed as "wonders of the world" (man made and natural). I hope couchsurfing will be a great way to see more of the people, culture and geography of the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Live life to the fullest, never stop learning, Carpe Diem, not all who wander are lost, hike your own hike, feed the good wolf, the golden rule, etc.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting, informing, surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've let some people crash on my couch or in the spare room I used to have when I was living in a house. I also played UNO with some couchsurfers in Belgium.

Interests

Good fun, good times, good stories, good people.

A few of the things that occupy my time: trying to convince my students to invest in their education, hiking, camping, family, almost all kinds of music - but especially indie\alternative\jam bands\classic rock, backpacking, a good book, sun, wine, microbrews, slack line, golf, disc golf, Tigers games, surfing the internet, board games, video games, trivia, and the occasional recreational soccer league.
