About Me

ABOUT ME

I hate injustice. I am curious and I like adventure. I think I am an idealist (not one that will say 'I used to be idealistic when I was younger', I believe people who say this have probably never been idealists). But although I call myself an idealist I still think I am tolerant and easy going and/because I try to avoid prejudging. I want to enjoy life but next to this I like to make myself useful...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is great to meet and share with interesting people from all over the world. Also the world would be a better place if (even) more people would share and show more hospitality, and help and understand each other... you are welcome!

Interests

Everything! But usually I spend my time with reading about sustainabilty/equality (e.g. world politics, diets, economics), reading (literature, (eastern) philosophy, poetry), nature (learning about birds, trees, (edible) plants and mushrooms etc.), studying (e.g. physics/modern technologies/ethics), taking yoga classes, vipassana meditation, listening to music (all kinds of classical, world, pop, dance etc), playing the piano or singing (just for fun, i'm not a great singer), and cooking vegetarian (often vegan) meals (don't be afraid although I'm strict to myself I am very tolerant to others).

Music, Movies, and Books

I do like movies and books but I am a modest movie/literature consumer... to name a few movies I liked: samsara (by Ron Fricke), Der himmel uber Berlin, Das leben der Anderen, many studio Ghibli movies, and more...
Some books I liked: Oblomov, and some books by Murakami, Dostojewski, Tolstoi, Arnon Grunberg (Dutch writer), and more...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visited (South) India! It was great!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to learn more Hindi and Arabic (I am beginner in Hindi/Urdu and of Arabic I am almost at intermediate level now and actively studying). It would be great if people could teach me nice things like dancing or acrobatics or all kinds of knowledge about all kinds of subjects: e.g. art, culture, food, economics, sciences, body, mind etc...

What I Can Share with Hosts

Teach yoga, tunes on the piano (if there is one available), soccer tricks... Of course for hosts, I'd like to cook!

And I like to share all things I share with my guests (see: My Home)

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, India, Japan, Morocco, Russian Federation, Turkey
