About Me
Hi!
It's Dani 👋
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would love to meet different people and cultures, I am very curious
Interests
If I had to introduce myself, I’d do it through my daily habits and the way I choose to live
I spend most of my free time outdoors - visiting parks several times a day or finding pockets of wild nearby
Walking forms part of the routine; usually 10,000+ steps each day
Each morning begins with grounding and deliberate exposure to sun and weather - at least legs and feet, even when it’s cold or raining
I watch the sunset and avoid blue light afterwards so my circadian rhythm stays in tune
Cold showers happen daily year-round, and being barefoot is the default, switching to sandals in busier parts of the city
Eating follows a simple, intentional pattern: intermittent fasting, two meals a day, dinner no later than 5 pm
A low-carb, high-fat approach came after a genetic test suggested carbohydrates aren’t processed particularly well, and the shift has been transformative
Unfussy, nourishing food is preferred, with batch-cooked staples like pickled onions or sardines in vinegar
Using as much of an ingredient as possible feels natural - lemon peel, bones made into paté - alongside straightforward, satisfying meals such as oven-baked chicken with Dijon mustard sauce
Movement is a daily priority
I train calisthenics in the park most days using the EMOM method - a strength-endurance style which fits me specially well according to a genetic test - and I pepper the day with short “exercise snacks”
Mornings begin with half an hour of reflection and writing
To wind down I use a Pranamat and sleep on a firm wool futon beneath a heavy blanket; it often feels as if the body has been quietly exercising through the night xD
At least once a week is devoted to a full day in wild nature
I try to live as freely and independently as possible, needing very little materially - no subscriptions, few clothes, no umbrella - and avoiding addictions like stimulant drinks or pornography
I read every day and don’t use social media. I’m a blood, bone marrow, and organ donor and donate €10 every month to ayudaefectiva.org
I enjoy doing things myself instead of paying for products or services whenever I can - making mustard or soap, sharpening knives, sewing, building simple furniture, or learning new skills on my own using free or low-cost online resources rather than expensive classes. I like understanding how things work and doing them “the right way", while also being aware that going too far into perfectionism isn’t always healthy or practical
