Overview
About Me
I study in Hannover, Germany (English and German for secondary school teaching), but I've also done two semesters at the Glasgow University couple of years ago. Besides my studies I work as a language assistant at my uni where I teach international students German, and I also give tuition classes at a secondary school.
As my studies suggest, I love languages and cultures and I travel as often as I can. I've lived in the UK twice (once as an au pair, once as a student) and I love the people an mentality there! However, I'm also very intrigued in other countries and cultures (currently learning Spanish and also preparing for my journey to Indonesia). I love swimming, jogging and cycling, hanging or going out with friends, discovering new music, reading (mainly crime novels) and, of course, traveling! Since I love walking around and discovering places on my own I'm easy maintenance, but I'm also sociable and always up for a chat and a drink or a night out.
Although I'm a student, I've lived on my own long enough to know what personal space and a tidy home mean and so I'm happy to keep my host's flat clean and as uninvaded as possible ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Having studied abroad and working with people from all over the world has shown me how valuable it is to meet people/locals wherever you are and learn about their lifes, thoughts or culture. It's something that adds up to the experience and which you can't get in a hotel!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I like pretty much everything, but I prefer alternative/rock and I also like pop/90s & charts (not just cause I can sing along to them) :D
Books: I mainly read trivial things like crime novels in my free time cause I have to read so many challenging works for my studies. I also like philosophical books though.
Movies: Mostly comedies, but not too fussed about the genre, really.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Great experiences definitely include my au pair year, my Erasmus year, my student exchange to the US and many smaller trips I've had throughout Europe.
I especially enjoyed traveling through the UK on my own just after school cause it showed me that I can tackle challenges on my own or with the help of strangers wherever I am. I got myself into stupid situations more than once (everyone who's traveled knows so many things can come up when you don't know a country/language etc.) and there's always been a way out somehow. I think those are the most valuable experiences I could make: Being independent on the one hand, but also knowing that there are so many lovely and generous people out there!
