About Me

I am currently a 4th year English major at California Polytechnic University, Pomona.
I am originally from San Diego, and have a deep love for the ocean, good Mexican food, and adventure.
I was bitten by the travel bug quite early in my life, thanks to both of my parents (who have done their fair share of traveling) and now I can't seem to stay in one place for too long. I travel whenever money and time permits!

I hope to go to graduate school for Linguistics, and teach English overseas.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have long stayed in hotels, in hostels, or with friends when I've traveled. After hearing so many positive remarks about CS, I've decided that now is the time as any to try it out!
I find that connecting with locals reaffirms my faith in humanity; the kindness, passion, and liveliness of people around the world is what brings us together! Sharing stories and opening homes is just another way to connect to one another.

Interests

I love to read, write, and dance.
I'm quite the foodie, with a side of adrenaline junkie and art lover.

In my spare time, I like to take photographs and go to concerts.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love indie/alternative, hip-hop, r&b, blues, jazz, and classic rock! I am generally not picky as long as you're not blasting Top 40.

Movies: My favorite movie is Ferris Bueller's Day Off, quickly follow by the Batman trilogy and the Godfather. I'm quite the film buff, so feel free to talk my ear off about just about any movie.

Books: As an English major, I'm not allowed to choose just one book. If I had to, though, a book that I keep reading over and over is Rosencratz and Guildenstern Are Dead (Tom Stoppard)
also, Where the Wild Things Are (Maurice Seandak) for the nostalgia.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have zip-lined in the jungles of Costa Rica
Skinny-dipped in Loch Ness
Rode ATV's through Hawaii
Swam in the underground/cave rivers (cenotes) of Mexico
And run across giant rope bridges in Canada.

These are all just the beginning...
I hope to add skydiving and bungee jumping to the list!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my bright personality and amazing sense of humor. I do stand-up on weekends!

I'm also a great cook, so I would not mind cooking a dinner or two for my hosts.

Overall, I'm clean, polite, and kind. I won't leave a mess or bad vibes behind!
