About Me

Easy going, quiet, relaxed individual - open for new experiences and new people

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to meet new people, share travel experience, share tips on the city I'm at (both as host and as guest) and maybe experience together. I’ve met so many awesome people, and would love to meet some more.

Interests

Traveling. Outdoors fun like hiking, cycling, boating, camping. Simple pleasures of life like hanging out with friends, chatting and laughing or just reading a good book. Listening to and making music

Music, Movies, and Books

80s, Blade Runner (the Original with Harrison Ford), lord of the rings - my favourites. I love movies with happy endings, and that includes cartoon movies (yeah the inner child is alive and kicking). I listen to all sorts of music, especially when it’s life, and can do a great chair dance. I love fantasy and crime novels, but I read all sorts of fiction. My latest favourite is Ben Aaronovitch who combines the above genres - funny / witty wizard detective stories...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived on a houseboat in the UK 🇬🇧 - great fun when you meet the ducks for dinner. Hiked the Grand Canyon, USA 🇺🇸 from rim to rim in a day - ok, it was only South rim to river and back, but I was still so pleased with completing it. Watched a Leatherback turtle lay her eggs in Costa Rica 🇨🇷 , and a humpback whale frolicking around in Canada 🇨🇦 - so majestic animals, so humbling to seeing them. Got up close and personal to a live volcanoe in Guatemala 🇬🇹 - including glowing lava and eruptions, what a sight at night. Hiked the last day of the Inca Trail to see magical Machu Picchu in Peru 🇵🇪 and climbed all 2800 stairs to the top of Machu Picchu mountain the next day. Climbed Tai Shan in China 🇨🇳- 6000 stairs (do I have a stairs thing?) to watch the sunrise in the morning. Cycled the most dangerous road in the world in Bolivia 🇧🇴 - a very exhilarating experience that I’d do again in a heartbeat. Abseiled 72m into a cave, and snorkelled in its lake in Brazil 🇧🇷 - scary and eerie and magical! Shared Terere with many Paraguayans 🇵🇾 Swam with sharks and turtles on beautiful Galápagos Islands, Ecuador 🇪🇨 Played an explosive game of Tejo in Colombia 🇨🇴 Saw the Alps during a ride in a hot air balloon in Germany 🇩🇪 - what a stunning scenery, almost too beautiful to be true. Met amazing people all over the world 🌍 through Couchsurfing- and every one of them has been awesome!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some German. Besides that, I'm more the Jack of many and master of few arts, so I'd rather listen. Happy to do some music if you've got a recorder (and some sheets of music) - love to play Irish folk!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Laughter. Help in cooking (I make a great souz-chef).
