About Me

CURRENT MISSION

The flight bug bit me and I wanna meet the whole world

ABOUT ME

So, my dad is a History teacher and taught me how to love the world. My mom loves people and taught me how to love meet new people.

I used to go to family vacations, and always wanted to meet the whole world, but it was not something I thought would be possible, until I came to the US as an au pair and saw that traveling is possible.

I am a Christian and love to write, I wanna be a writer and meet people all around the world. I got a degree in speech therapy because I just think is amazing how people comunicate to each other.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a Christian who really tries to live the mere christianity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For now I live with a host family and cannot have anybody here. When I come back to Brazil I'm going to get married (my fiancé loves to travel as well) and we would be more than happy to welcome Couchsurfers in our house - wherever is that going to be.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just start surfing, but know some people that are surfers already.

Interests

I just love to read,it is my favourite thing in the whole world. I love to write as well. Love art, it doesn't matter what kind - from Hollywood movies to beautiful pieces of sculpture somewhere in the world. Love music, love to read (have I mentioned that already?). And I love to travel. Even though I'm an introspective person with no doubt, I just love to listen to people's stories. I love to tell stories (writing).

Music, Movies, and Books

Really? There are so many. But ok, there is a top five of them (not necessarily following my preference order...I have a really short memory and I'm trying to remember the names):

Movies (after a quick search, because is so hard to know the English names of the movies...in Portuguese they don't sound like the original name at all):
1. Dead Poets Society
2. Leap Year
3.Little Manhattan
4. Star Wars
5. Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain

Music:
1. Delirious?
2. Resgate
3. MPB (so many in this genre)
4. Pato Fu
5. U2

Books - the hardest list...I'm a book addict, I can't read a book of an author that I love and don't feel compelled to read all the other books that the author wrote:

1. What's so amazing about grace (or pretty much anything by Philip Yancey)
2. Narnia (or pretty much anything about Lewis)
3. The fault is in our stars (or...well, you know)
4. Comédias para se ler na escola (Luiz Fernando Veríssimo is an Brazilian genius)
5. The little prince

It is not here, but I must do my top 5 tv series as well:

1. Doctor Who (I'm not ashamed of the nerd that I am, haha).
2. Friends
3. How I met your mother.
4. Star Trek
5. Criminal Minds.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the fact that I left my house, job and fiancé at home to be an au pair is pretty amazing, but definitely the most amazing thing that have ever happened to me was to meet Philip Yancey. He is not just my favorite author, he is my mentor, not just in writing, but in my life. And nobody would ever believe a girl like me would meet one the most influent writers in the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love my home town and state and could talk about them for hours. I love to write and could share my writing and I know a few Brazilian dishes as well. I love to learn - anything, everything. It is never too much to learn.
