I am a travel nurse and just finished working in Juneau, AK. Will be heading to Portland for my next contract, but not until October. In the mean time, I want to see Alaska, so am taking a month long road trip with my 10 lb dog.

Prior to Juneau, I worked at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Miami Children's Hospital in Miami, FL and Indianapolis Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. I love traveling and love my job allows me to do so!

My dog, Kadin is 10 lbs and is really no trouble. He has a cage that he loves and wouldn't mind staying in his cage during our visit. He has all his shots and health paperwork. He is on flea and tick medicine and received a 6 month heart worm vaccine 2 months ago. I can give copies of all documents if you would like!
When I get to Portland in October, I would be more than willing to have guests in my apartment! I will be there until the middle of January!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hotels are super expensive; being on the road a month I won't be able to afford hotels every night and don't necessarily want to stay in the city. Also, a lot of hotels don't allow pets and although my dog is no trouble, it often costs more to have a pet. I also would love to meet new people throughout my travels or even find friends to explore and hike with!

Interests

I love children and I love my job. I love to bake; I might open a bakery when I retire or settle down somewhere. Before my road trip to Alaska, I didn't know that I was an outdoorsy gal, but have found new loves for hiking, fishing, exploring, kayaking, and basically anything outdoors! Would love to learn how to camp and backpack, so I can backpack on future adventures! I love exploring the paths less traveled and visiting areas that your average person might be hesitant to visit.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all types of music, and love live music. I am a huge movie buff and especially like the Marvel movies. I don't read a lot of novels; however, I read a lot of travel magazines and travel books. Currently reading a book called, Hiking Alaska and another one called, Secrets to the National Parks!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Took a road trip from Texas to Juneau, Alaska and visited 7 National Parks, 9 states, 1 Canadian providence and 1 Canadian territory. Awesome trip; I highly recommend it!
