À propos de moi

My name is Daniel and I am a 34 years business developer with a passion for innovation and tech. In the last six years I have lived in London, where I studied Urban planning and Management at UCL and then a Master of Management at Imperial College Business School. I then moved to Berlin to learn German and lived there slightly less than one year. After a year in Copenhagen, where I worked as a Business Developer for a Danish firm creating amazing Scandinavian E-commerce, I moved to Amsterdam for a new adventure.

I am currently living in Venice (at my parent's so unfortunately I cannot host).

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I traveled extensively across Europe and backpacking from one town to the next one, I realized that the most amazing experiences are always those involving real people and real places, rather than the sanitized, dispersonalized Hotel environment.

I am essentially a very curious person and I believe that any one, irrispective of his level of education and personal experience has something to offer, if we are open to accept it. I am therefore looking forward to being surprised by you Couchsurfers !!!

I have met very good friends on Couchsurfing, so plan the unexpected and you never know...

Centres d'intérêt

I am an addicted traveller: my favourite travels have been a three-months trip in Eastern Europe, from Estonia to Crimea, from Poland, to Russia and my three months staying in China.

I am a polyglot, I love modern and contemporary arts, literature and I am piano-literate. I studied piano when I was at Secondary school and I really enjoyed it !

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I am very open to various genres of Music, Movies and Books. Life it's short let's experiment !

As a classical pianist, I am very keen to all the classical repertoire, the Opera but I am also a disco man and would therefore not look down on the latest hits !

Regarding movies, I cannot stand American-style, apocalyptical films. I am more interested in niche-movie, winner of the Cannes movie Festival, winners of the Berlin film Festival, etc... Some of the movie I like are:

"The Hours" by Stephen Daldry
"Anna Karenina" by Joe Wright
"The Graduate" by Mike Nicholas
"Casanova" by Federico Fellini
"Metropolis" by Fritz Lang
etc

With regards to books, I am currently reading "à la Recherche du temps perdu" and finishing a up an essay on philosophy of life.I am big fan of Russian Literature and I am looking forward to being able to read the classics in Russian !!!

please write the word pulchro in your message if you have read up to this point. Also, please tell me why you are coming to Amsterdam, whether you have something that you really want to see and what you found interesting about my profile. If you don't answer this questions I will assume that you haven't read my profile and automatically decline your request. Couchsurfing is about meeting people and the very basis of it it's a genuine interest in the others. If you cannot be asked to read a one page profile page, how can I believe that you truly are interested in meeting me and that you are not only searching a cheap alternative in Amsterdam ?

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I traveled across China by myself, irrispective of everyone discouraging me from doing it. It was amazing, getting off at the stations and, with my Lonely Planet and adventuring into the city !
