About Me

Hello! If I had to describe myself in 5 words, they would be:
1) Easygoing: I go with the flow and have an easy time getting along with people. 2) Open-minded: I love hearing about different cultures, life-styles, beliefs, etc,.
3) Passionate: When I have an interest in something, I get really into it.
4) Considerate: I try my best to accommodate the people around me.
5) Adventurous: I can not see myself living a consistent life. I love to shake things up, and do new things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My girlfriend of 2 years and I are going to Europe! We are leaving on June 3, landing in Dublin, IR, and flying out of Stuttgart, GE, in mid September. We will be traveling on a tight budget, and figured Couchsurfing would be a great thing to get into! After our trip, we will be getting an apartment either in Sonora, CA, or the surrounding area (hopefully a bit closer to Yosemite National Park), and would love to host interesting people!

Interests

I have a pretty wide range of interests. My biggest passions, I would say, are traveling, adventure, science, philosophy, sports, nature, and good conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books

To keep it short, my favorite kinds of music are classic rock, indie, folk, punk, classical, ska, and some random bands.
My favorite movies...I can get into most genres, but the best of the best movies for me are "Forrest Gump," "Tremors" (a classic monster movie), "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," and "Scott Pilgrim V.S The World."
When it comes to books, I like sci-fi, fantasy, adventure, classic literature, and informative (usually on science, history, or philosophy).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Okay, this may be a little bit lame for an "amazing thing I've done," but it is pretty amazing to me. While working minimum wage jobs, going full time to college, and living away from home, my girlfriend and I managed to save enough money to get us a three month adventure in Europe! I know, experienced travelers know exactly how to go about affording trips on low income, but the fact that we actually did it for ourselves and brought our biggest dream to reality is just too amazing to me not to mention.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Something I could teach potential hosts is the generally unknown aspects of living in California; It is so different than what is usually shown in the movies.
Learn: Something I would love to learn from hosts is how they live; what in their life is similar to mine back home, and what is different?

What I Can Share with Hosts

My hometown of Sonora, California is a beautiful little place on the outskirts of Yosemite. With amazing history and wonderful scenery, I hope to share with hosts a little taste of my hometown, and what my life there is like.
