About Me

I grew up on the countryside in eastern Austria (Burgenland), right next to the Hungarian Border in a village with a proud population of 800. After finishing school I worked as a Red Cross paramedic for a year and volunteered for another year before I moved to Vienna to go to University and study law. I plan to have my studies finished this year.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that there is a common spirit amongst most travellers and all couchsurfers that I had the pleasure of meeting so far. It is that great feeling when all the struggle and complexity of the world is narrowed down to a simple gesture of hospitality, kindness and a curiosity for strangers. As long as we have each other, we have everything.

Interests

MUSIC: Playing instruments (drums, guitar, bass, violin,...), homerecording, playing live, collecting records,...

And I spent countless hours on drawing and writing.

Travelling: I have travelled through Europe a lot, but hitchhiking in Georgia and Armenia was my most intense experience so far.

Besides from that I like hanging out with friends, going out for a beer, cooking, going to small gigs, art galleries, cinema and of course, travelling. I like to have a glass of wine or beer and share stories about travelling, have some cultural exchange and learn about different world views. I have an oipinion of a lot of things and I am happy to meet people who do so as well :)

I listen to a lot of music, from 70ies Folk/Prog Rock, Folk, Electronic/Experimental Stuff up to Punk, Hardcore and Metal. No real pattern and too much to list it all, sorry.

I am into Philosophy, expecially Nietzsche, Zizek, Sloterdijk and I like books about history, culture and psychology (getting into Freud and Jung).
I like poetry, for example Baudelaire or Georg Trakl.
