Hey there,

I'm a 28 year old person that just took off a year together with my girlfriend Mareile. We both quit our jobs and are now travelling for about a year. Both of us usually live in Cologne, Germany. Me, I studied educational science and have been working for the German Red Cross in Cologne. Mareile is 31 years young and studied special educational science. She used to work as an assistant for people with a handicap.

Both of us like climbing and bouldering. We enjoy spending time outdoors. In addition to the languages above, Mareile also speaks Spanish and a bit of Russian.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

As we started travelling at April 2015 and plan to do that for a year, we are happy to meet some nice people, to exchange and have a good time together. We travel with our VW Van where we can sleep in, but of course we also want to get in touch with the world. So Couchsurfing for us is possible on the usual couch and also in our Van if there is a parking occasion.

Daniels interests are climbing, bouldering, reading, listening to music, very occasionally playing guitar, travelling, spending time with friends, cooking, going out for a drink, hiking and sleeping ;)

Mareiles interests are partly the same: climbing, hiking, spending time with friends and doing creative things such as sewing, knitting or designing clothes.

About music, Mareile and me aren't focused on a single genre. Depending on our mood, we listen to Rock, Hip Hop, Electro, Singer/Songwriter and other music.

Daniels favourite books are: "Corpus Delicti" by Juli Zeh and "Blindness" by José Saramago.

Mareiles favourite books are: "Ronja Räubertochter" by Astrid Lindgren and "Kiterunner" by Khaled Hosseini.

If you are interested and there are some nice rocks or boulders around, we could show you the basics of rock climbing or bouldering.

We can share our passion for good food and prepare a nice dish for you. Both of us are vegetarians and like experiment with that cuisine. Also we can have a ride with our Van together and explore nice places, public transport isn't heading to. And of course we like to share the stories that happen to us while traveling.
