Overview
About Me
I am an outgoing person with a positive attitude. Love being with my friends and enjoy meeting new people. I don't like being stuck inside, I like to be out and about, whether it's having drinks with my friends, just going places or travelling.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I very much enjoy meeting and getting to know people. Also if I have the opportunity, I like to take them on a tour in my beautiful city and show them the nightlife. Don't worry, that does not necessarily include clubs, I also have a few favourite bars/pubs with special beers that I very much enjoy going to.
I like to help people that need a place to stay, that are keen on hanging with locals and that are open for doing fun stuff.
I like to be very independent when travelling (arranging my own places to stay instead of surfing - waiting for surfing request confirmations is awful haha), although I've surfed once and it was fantastic :)
If I travel I'd like to meet locals, through CS or in a bar and have fun.
Note after some interesting experiences:
I and my house are not a free bed&breakfast, so if you're not interested in getting to know me, don't bother sending a message.

Music, Movies, and Books
Perhaps not the most male-thing to say but my favourite film is probably 500 Days of Summer.
I have a very broad taste for music, from dance to Ludovico Einaudi (shame on you if you don't know this guy or the film Les Intouchables) and from jazz to some good-old happy hardcore (very popular in the Netherlands in the 90's).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I started with one but funny things came to mind ;)
Maybe not super amazing but great fun, touring with a band in the UK with a crappy old knackered LDV van with the steering wheel on the wrong side getting me the honourable nickname 'Roadkill'.
Climbing a 50 meter high crane after a clubnight with a friend, we were very sober of course, he is now using the photo I took on top of the crane as profile pic for his LinkedIn. Cropped to make it less bad ;)
My one night clubbing in Tempe, Arizona; the people who had asked me to tag along (whom I had met the night before) just left me behind while I was getting my coat (didn't know people there never bring their coats when going out (so no wardrobe), so a waitress had buried it somewhere). Finally outside I found myself in a party of one. Decided to go to the one place that still had lights and music going, turned out to be an all Afro-American party. I was slightly overdressed due to a company dinner before going out so I really was the odd one out. Got some strange looks at first but in the end it was the best decision of the night :)
