Über mich
As of Autumn 2019, I've relocated to Helsinki, Finland. I can potentially host but also up for adventures or tea or cycling or whatever!
So, I'm easy going, up for a laugh, excitable, sociable, love sharing good things, smiling and don't take things too seriously!
PHILOSOPHY
If you go to a country as a conqueror
you are going to get shot at.
If you go as a tourist
you are going to get ripped off.
But if you go as a friend
chances are that
you will be welcomed as a friend.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
I host when I can, get hosted when I'm welcome and try to spread this wonderful idea and open some minds :)
I'm more than happy to meet up for some tea or whatever and have a chat!
My first experience of hosting was helping out Ken, a Japanese music student who stumbled into the bar where I worked in Lancaster, soaking wet, missed his train to the Lake District and unable to find a hotel. He joined in our staff party, we took him out and he crashed at mine. This trust and openness that I have experienced from complete strangers through CS has helped be more carefree and spontaneous!
I properly got into it in 2009 when I studied in Spain and got put up by fantastic folk whilst I got settled. I had the luck of living in an amazing, international flat and it was rude not to fill the space we had with wonderful people!
I've met some fantastic people, ran into some mind blowing coincidences and been totally inspired from this idea and the people I've come across.
Interessen
travel, surfing, messing about, learning languages, cooking, music (in any form :p), hockey, tents, guitar, didgeridoo, busking, hitchhiking, cycle touring, bread baking, yoga.
I love music first and foremost, playing, listening, jamming, watching, busking...all of it. I love to cook and even more so to share the fruits of my labour. I'm a social creature and enjoy to be around humanity. Country boy at heart, enjoy the greenery and the mountains, especially the beach and the ocean. Couldn't be happier than cosy in a tent with some good friends after a long cycle!

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Music, so I'm rarely seen without a guitar in my hand. I play didgeridoo, harmonica and banjo as well, so if you're up for a jam then so am I!
There's a fair few instruments knocking about my flat, bring some more and we'll have a play about.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
Hitched a ride in a dumper truck in morocco
Couchsurfed a cave with some truly inspiring people!
Cycled form the UK to Morocco in August 2011 with 11 other bloody crazy nutters.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
I can teach you some guitar, how to circular breathe and play the didgeridoo and harmonica.
I would love to learn more music so if you have any crazy instruments you are more than welcome in my house!
I always love to practice Spanish so if you fancy a chat en español then I would love that!
If you're interested in sourdough, I can show you how to bake and you can inevitably try some of our bread!
