ABOUT ME

I can cook a mean southern meal, but watch out--I use a lot of butter! I am the sweetest thing since spun honey, and I laugh at everything. I just like to have a good time, and I like it when other people have a good time too. I prefer white wine to red. I like my whiskey on the rocks. I will pick the hole-in-the-wall over the white table cloth any day. I put my elbows on the table when I eat. I always say please and thank you, and I am the cleanest person you've ever met in your life.

I am brand new to this community. I am traveling in a couple of weeks, and I want to get to know more about how to host so that I can help people traveling in / around NYC.

Intereses

I work for an amazing company that is doing amazing things. I am super involved in education right now, and that is pretty fulfilling. If I can get my hands dirty, cook a good meal, see something I've never seen before, or meet new people, I am definitely interested. I thought I wanted to be a doctor, so I worked to prepare cadavers for the medical school in college. I then moved to New York City, and now I work with teachers all over the world.

I'll never forget seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time. I felt so small. It was breathtakingly beautiful.

The first time I held my nephews (two of my brothers had babies the same week in January this year) was a life changing moment. I never knew I could love something so much.

My grandparents, both in their late 70's, still maintain a few acres of crop land. They have not only enough food to give to family, but they also give food away to friends. The first time I saw them harvest a crop was so special.
