PHILOSOPHY

"Sound Mind, Sound Body" - It's an old slogan from the Asics shoe company, but it stuck with me and really does encapsulate some of what's most important to me on the individual level. On the social level, I value honesty, empathy, and looking for ways to maximize everybody's individual interests through cooperation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm cycling cross-country, so I'm looking for friendly people with whom to socialize and possibly provide a patch of grass for my tent or a shower.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined the site in June 2013 while on my bicycle tour. Thus far I've only surfed twice, but I've really enjoyed it both times and hope to be doing it more in the weeks to come. I'm also curious to see about hosting when I get back to Chicago later in the year.

Interests

Cyclist, rock climber, and general lover of the outdoors. I'm also an avid reader and really enjoy playing board games with friends new and old.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy far more than I don't, so I'll list a few that don't interest me as much: horror movies, hip-hop music, and romance novels. If you like these, it doesn't mean we can't be friends, and who knows, perhaps after talking to you I'll learn to appreciate them in a new way. It's happened previously with other things.
