ABOUT ME

I'm a 23 year old law student from Melbourne, Australia. I've almost finished my law degree and will be spending my last semester studying in Florence, Italy! Super excited. After that I'm going to hit the US, and after THAT, I am hopefully going to spend some volunteering at an Aboriginal legal service before starting my corporate law grad job in 2013. It's not the long term plan, but I want to see how much I hate it before writing it off forever ;) In 2010 I lived in Berlin for 6 months while studying German history and literature, in German. While I initially felt pretty apprehensive and terrified about the whole experience, in the end, of course I was glad I went and I made so many new friends and saw so many amazing places. I love visiting cities and realising they are so underrated by tourists. My favourite discovery was Krakow in Poland -so good. I've travelled around Europe quite a bit. I'm pretty ambitious and determined, I like to work hard and do things well (your typical law student haha), but I also love having one...or several...drinks and staying up late and sleeping in! I love to hang out with my friends, go to the football, and try out all the best brunch places in town, I love tequila shots, pina coladas and gin & tonics, I love reading, arguing, dancing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No experiences as yet! But heaps of friends have done it and loved it. My trip this year will be the first travelling largely by myself and I hate being alone, so am looking to meet some new people and make some new friends

Music, Movies, and Books

Just read the David Hicks book about Guantanamo Bay -amazing and horrifying. Pride & Prejudice is my favourite book though I like trashy literature too! My favourite movie is Good Will Hunting -am a massive Matt Damon fan. Also love Fight Club, The Beach, Anchorman, Zoolander, then your typical girly movies like Centre Stage and Step Up ;) Love some Australian music -the Living End, the Whitlams, Pete Murray -check them out.  Also love The Smiths, Matchbox 20, Justin Timberlake, the Dandy Warhols -pretty varied.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Slid down a hill on black ice after a bottle of champagne on New Years in Stuttgart, Germany-Walked 2 hours to find the most 'authentic' beer hall in Munich, Germany-Ordered so much food in Krakow, Poland that the waitress had to bring over another chair to put it all on -Mixed up the password to an underground club in Berlin, Germany so hilariously that the bouncer let me in anyway-Been to Auschwitz, Poland-Eaten gelato in the snow in Venice, Italy-Stayed at a hotel with a roof top swimming pool overlooking the cathedral in Seville, Spain
