Hello everyone!

I'm Danielle (is it weird to say that even though my name is on this thing?) Any who, I'm originally from Jamaica but I spent most of my life in the States.

I'm a fun, cool, weirdo working in NYC and I truly believe that most people are good at the end of the day. Some call it naive, I call it hopeful. That being said I'm very opinionated, but also kind, I love meeting new people and trying new foods.

I've always wanted to travel but I've always found some excuse not to. But the best thing I've learned in this life thus far is this: Time is not something you have, it's something you make...

I'm traveling to London for my birthday from 4/20 - 5/6 and I'm looking for some cool, fun, awesome, and kind people to stay with. I'll also be visiting Barcelona, Stockholm, Paris, and possibly Athens.

I love to cook, food is one of the most intimate things yet we fail to realize it's significance.

I enjoy watching documentaries, reading comic books, and drawing .
I also like making corny jokes. I tend to be the only one that laughs at them though (cold world no blanket) Perhaps I'm just telling them to the wrong crowd?

Phew, it just got real.

Hmmm, does surviving in an ever changing city such as NYC and still believing in the goodness of others count?

But seriously, this may not be amazing but here goes: one day when I was walking to the train after a less than lovely day at work, it started to rain, heavily, and I did not have an umbrella. It was cold and and I was feeling absolutely miserable. As I was walking for what seemed like forever with my head down, I noticed a man had stopped in front of me, and when I looked up, I saw that he was offering me his umbrella.

There was no flirting, and no ulterior motive, other than the fact that this stranger saw that I could use a kind gesture. I questioned him at fist but he insisted and said, 'Ill be fine, it's just water'. His smile was so genuine so I simply smiled back and took the umbrella.

We parted ways and when I got to my train station, I saw a woman struggling with her metro card. Her card had just expired and she looked as though she was distressed and confused. Without speaking, I went to the machine and a new card, and handed it to her. She was so thankful and it felt so good to do something nice. I went home feeling absolutely amazing!
