About Me
Hey,
I'm Danielle. I'm 26 and I'm currently working towards my Master's Degree in Public Affairs with a concentration in Sustainability. As part of that degree, I'm living in Cameroon as a Peace Corps volunteer working with smallholder farmers. When I'm not with the farmers, you can find me running or working in my own garden. I love the satisfaction of growing my own food or completing a good workout. I'm currently training for a marathon, the Paris Marathon to be exact and I'm super excited.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love learning about the culture here and though I've been here for a year I'm still learning. It is really interesting. Right now, I can't host people but when I travel I would love to really experience the local culture and learn. Part of being a world citizen, we have to have open minds to others and their traditions and couchsurfing is a way to do that.
Interests
I am an avid runner. I've ran several half-marathons and am training for a full. I love to garden, read, dance and listen to music. I taught myself how to knit and I'm working on learning the guitar. I only have the A-chord down. I'm really into tv as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Kelly Clarkson, Adele, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Mumford and Sons, Florence and the Machine. I could keep listing but I think you get the picture. I'm very into current music.
Movies: I honestly don't have a favorite movie off the top of my head. I have seen a lot and I don't discriminate between genres but none really pop out.
Books: Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter series, The Jungle, The Poisonwood Bible, Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. This list could go on as well. I have read over 50 books since arriving in country in 2014.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think moving across the world to live in a developing country is pretty amazing. It was probably the most scariest thing I have ever done but I don't regret it one bit.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach english, I would love to improve my french. I can share something from Cameroon that I've learned.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share American culture and I can bring a traditional gift from Africa.
