About Me
Hello! Still fairly new to couchsurfing - apologies for the empty profile.
Grew up on a small island in the English Channel but since 2009 have been living and working in Paris.
Looking to meet up with people in far-off places!

Music, Movies, and Books
The authors I most appreciate are those that draw me in through their style as well as their ideas. This means a lot of American contemporary fiction: Junot Diaz, Jonathan Franzen, Brett Easton Ellis, Jonathan Safran Foer, John Updike, Philip Roth....
But I grew up on adventure and science fiction: Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke... (or Douglas Adams and Michel Marshall-Smith), so even though they aren't my favs today, they definitely contributed to how I see the world.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Quit my job with no concrete back-up plan, just because.
Teach, Learn, Share
Looking to share a nice time in a new place!
I'm pretty sure there's still enough I don't know about the world and the people in it that I can learn from anyone willing to shoot the breeze.
In terms of sharing more defined "skills": I did teach English for 5 years before changing career, so can help you if you are looking to improve. Also fluent in French! So can help you if you're beginner-intermediate level... And of course my "day job" is in advertising/PR, specifically digital strategy, so always happy to help with "computer questions" at all different levels ;)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I hope: some interesting conversation and an understanding ear. Maybe some banter. Maybe new food combinations!
