Hi everyone!
I'm 22 years old and have JUST finished my degree in Biotechnology.
I'm an avid traveller, and spent 6 months studying on exchange in Belfast, Northern Ireland last year, shooting off to various European countries on my weekend.
My passions are camping and the outdoors, and I enjoy hiking, canyoning, kayaking, fishing, swimming , skiing, etc. I'll give everything a try! Exploring new places is my favourite thing :D

I have travelled through a number of countries, like New Zealand, Japan, Vietnam, Ecuador, Pacific Islands, UK, Ireland, Iceland, Netherlands, Belgium and through a fair bit of Australia. This has been either solo or with family. Some weekend trips and some for a few weeks.

I love getting in to the REAL country, culture and life. Big cities are not usually my style, as I'm not all that interested in the high rises, designer brands and crazy traffic. But, I don't mind checking them out for a little bit, to see the history, the bustle and the life in them!

I live in Lake Macquarie, NSW, Australia, about 30 minutes from the beach, 5 minutes walk from the lake, and 30 minutes from the state forest, my favourite camping spot. So many fun outdoorsy activities! 15 minutes from the train station, which you can use to get into Newcastle (45-60mins) and Sydney (90 mins plus).

I would love to get to experience the home lives and cultures of people all around the world, and I would love to share my life and location with others!
The world is a fascinating place and I am so ignorant of its marvels :)

I'm headed to Europe for 2 months (April - May 2015) with my boyfriend, and we'd both love to meet some locals and get to know some of the local secrets and top spots. What better way to do it then couch surfing!

Intereses

LOVE the outdoors! If I had my way, I'd live in my swag and travel around Australia. Unfortunately, work would not like that haha
Enjoy hiking, canyoning, abseiling, kayaking, swimming, skiing (water and snow), wanders along the beach, exploring the bush, and having adventures.
I'm also an avid reader, and can happily spend the day sitting in the sun reading a book :)
And of course, travel! Learning new things and seeing new sites. Bliss

Música, películas y libros

I love musical theatre, country, reggae, 'punk stuff' (Simple Plan/old Good Charlotte) and the music of my parents generation. Basically, if I can sing the lyrics easily, it goes ok. I'm not too fussy!
Pretty open to all movies. Love Pirates of the Caribbean, Australia, Man from Snowy River, and some random comedies.
Favourite books are the Wheel of time series by Robert Jordan. Of course I've read Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings too. Generally like fantasy and historical fictions. Not so keen on auto/biographies, unless they're reeeeeeaaaaalllllyyyyy good.

I'm a volunteer firefighter, so I get to see people at their worst and most vulnerable. I think the best thing I've done is probably help save children from a burning daycare centre. It sounds like I'm being all egotistical, but it was a pretty crazy and difficult day and I am very proud of myself!

On a more cliche note, canyoning in the Blue Mountains (NSW, Australia) is pretty amazing! Getting to go to regions completely untouched, where only a few people ever get to see. It's a combination of camping, bush exploration, hiking, abseiling and swimming, in a wilderness area. AMAZING!
