About Me

I’m 24 year old English teacher from outside of Los Angeles CA. Born and raised in CA for 18 years then moved to the other side of the US to the state of Maine for college where I lived for 4.5 years. In the summer I split my time half in CA half in Maine. Upon graduating with my bachelors degree I accepted a Fulbright scholarship to come teach English in Galicia, Spain where I lived for two years. Now I’m based in Madrid.

I’m a big soccer fan, I played for most of my entire life but took a hiatus but am back playing on a 7 v 7 team in Madrid :) I love watching soccer, huge Real Madrid fan. Overall soccer is very integral to my family and upbringing :))

I am first generation Mexican-American raised in an immigrant family. My culture is very important to me and I believe to have the warm Mexican spirit. I have zero tolerance for racism and xenophobia. I am very passionate about human rights, especially those regarding safe migration. And I believe in a free Palestine.

I have two older sisters (29, 37) so I like to believe I’m very cultured haha, especially when it comes to music. I appreciate learning about new cultures and mindsets through people and like to travel as much as I can even though I come from a low-income background :)

I have severe asthma so I do not smoke and prefer not to be around it but when in Europe you have to adapt so I’m flexible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Money is tight so I will be honest in saying that getting a host is ideal, but really I try to travel every free weekend I have and can financially afford to but that’s always by myself and I’m tired of the “solo” aspect of my traveling and would love to meet new people and have company and share experiences
I truly really do value meeting new people and talking and sharing perspectives and just overall learning. A bit of a nerd in that regard. Even better with locals but I think everyone has something special to offer!
