About Me

My name is Danielle, and I'm an artist originally from the Bay Area but living in New York. I love traveling, learning new languages, and meeting new people. I find that I enjoy exploring cities and nature alike.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy exploring museums and cultural venus of new cities, but I find my favorite sights are those recommended to me by people who live there.

Interests

I grew up engulfed in nature and dreamed of escaping to the city. Now I live in a big city and take every chance I get to run away into nature. I think I'll always be mediating my love for hustle and bustle meeting diverse people and the social nature of the city with my desire to feel so small in the solitude provided by the mountains.

I'm a theater and arts lover in my core, currently applying to PhD programs, and I like when people introduce me to new things or ways of being.

Music, Movies, and Books

Live music is always my favorite, otherwise my taste is pretty eclectic: Nina Simone to Elliott Smith, Classical to Beyonce--and much in between!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm currently training for the NYC marathon, so that already feels like a huge accomplishment...

Last summer I biked from Santa Cruz, CA to Santa Barbara, CA.

I have a couple of backpacking trips planned coming up and I'm looking forward to being a solo-woman backpacker.

Teach, Learn, Share

It's possible that I don't have any special skills... but I do love a good conversation! Swapping stories and anecdotes, laughing at mishaps, etc.

I'm also a pretty well seasoned vegan cook! If you're interested in vegan cooking or generally becoming better acquainted with vegetables or fermentation, I'm your woman!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I believe people are able to offer different things to different people, so let's meet and see what we might be able to show one another.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, Tanzania
