Overview
About Me
I'm a Utah native but have moved around; my heart belongs to Idaho, but I also lived in a small city a couple hours outside Chicago. I currently live in western Ukraine and am using my skills and knowledge to assist a local government organization. I studied anthropology as an undergraduate, and political science/applied community and economic development as a graduate student.
I'm a huge advocate for service learning, and am serving as a national volunteer for the second time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Community is incredibly important to me. I've devoted my studies and life to strengthening communities. I love Couchsurfing because it brings people together to share experiences, kindness, and love - a community in and of itself.
Interests
I spend a lot of time reading, writing, running, and doing yoga. Cycling was one of my favorite hobbies in the U.S., but it's too dangerous to ride a bike where I currently live. I love hiking, camping, cooking, and baking as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite author: Barabara Kingsolver
Favorite book: There are too many - don't make me pick
Favorite music - It varies; lately I'm into The War On Drugs and Neil Young
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went to Spain for a mortuary archaeology excavation, during which we excavated human remains from the Middle Ages. This also entailed uncovering an entire cemetery, at which point I learned I am awful with a pick axe but have impressive composure when covered in ants.
