Overview
About Me
I'm a sci-fi/comic book nerd. I love all sports but mainly baseball. I'm a classically trained musician, an environmentalist/climate activist, an academic dropout (oh that darn masters degree... makes for a great story though), and I'm very involved in politics. I may be the coolest elected official around (I'm not -- but I do good work).
I've been told I am a mix of the television characters Leslie Knope and Jess from New Girl. I'm quirky and fun but a very enlightened and passionate elected official who values community, compassion, and knowledge. I'm a change agent and am open to helping build capacity and bringing about even the smallest changes to make things better.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet great people when I travel and to do a better job of learning the pulse of a location rather than be holed up in a hotel.

Music, Movies, and Books
This is way too difficult to list out. We can chat about it. Unless you don't want to chat about it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I managed to get completely wasted at the White House and still get invited back despite my antics!

What I Can Share with Hosts
Great fun - thoughtful discussion - acts of service - compassion - I can also cook, bake, and craft. I'm all about some arts and crafts and glitter. You want to knit a blanket? I'm on it. Want to paint a room? I'm in. Want to build a tree house in your backyard? I will pick out a killer playlist and bring you water while you work on that!
I once assisted a host by noticing the gutters on his street were filled with debris and I called one of his elected officials who happened to be a friend of mine, made a "complaint" about how the city had neglected his neighborhood and had the streets cleaned as a thank you for his kindness. It's not a lot but it was what I could do.
