About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hannover!!!

ABOUT ME

I'm am a really open and dynamic person, also very easy to get along with. I travel like crazy and have trouble staying in one place. I have a great place in San Francisco and hundreds of friends. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life. I recently got back from Europe after a 5-year stay in France and Germany. I lead an inspiring life in SF full of surprises, activism, and I'm learning to let go of the system and money!!! Capitalism is a part of reality, but it does not have to rule our lives! I am also an inventor and will be participating in the CEBIT Trade Fair in Hannover for Research and Development.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live.

Smile and everything will go your way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been couchsurfing a ton. That's how I moved to San Francisco. I only had $250 when I arrived, and I didn't know anyone at all. I couchsurfed for 2 and a half months straight, and that's how I was able to get my first job, meet my roommates, make my closest friends...with nothing but a dollar and a dream. After that I started hosting, not so much through the website, but I started bringing people home I had picked up off of the streets, hahaha. I brought home 2 nice German twins, Fanny and Kaya, and that was the beginning of another adventure that has changed my life and the way I perceive the world today.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen lots of crazy things in my lifetime, including a bomb from my window, while I was living in Caracas. I was playing my viola and looking at the beautiful view, when all of a sudden I felt something drop. Two blocks away and on the ninth floor, I felt my whole building shake, as if a plane or something heavy had fallen from the sky. Then there was a small mushroom cloud and black smoke rising up across the sky.
All my neighbors were at their windows within seconds and in the buildings surrounding the place of impact, all the windows were shattered. I guess what is amazing about it, is that I happened to be looking in that direction exactly when it happened and I saw everything! This is not at all typical for Venezuela by the way. We've never even been in a war, which makes me extremely proud. But from all I've seen in that crazy country, I'm happy to be alive...and I try my best no to take that for granted.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a freegan. That means I've learned to live almost entirely by getting stuff for free. Of course, nothing in life is truly free. This involves giving back to the community and being good to people, because if you're good to them, chances are they'll be good with you in return. I don't like to eat alone. There is a proverb that says that he who eats alone, dies alone. It's absolutely frightening! I've been volunteering with a very beautiful organization called Food NOT Bombs in San Francisco for over 6 months. We take food that would be thrown away, and we cook it and feed hundreds of people on the streets, keeping it real. This is something I can't live without now. It gives me purpose and keeps me clear, and I'd like to share it with Germany. My Berliner friends and I hope to found the first ever Berlin Food NOT Bombs pretty soon! Even better than Mundraub! Yay! because everybody deserves to eat...and we need to take care of society, so it can take care of us.
