Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Making the most of 6-months in Qatar (here until September)!
ABOUT ME
Friendly with a bit of English reserve. Unpretentious. Try not to take myself too seriously. Objective, open minded, curious. Quirky sense of humour. Like running (hope to do a triathalon one day) and twanging the guitar.
PHILOSOPHY
"We are put on this earth to fart around. Don't let anyone tell you any different" - Kurt Vonnegurt
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Yet to participate, but look forward to meeting some new people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have met lots of nice couch-surfers living in Oxford UK without registering (until now).
Interests
Culture, outdoor activities e.g. trekking, scrambling, camping, snorkelling, running. Socialising and meeting new people. Exploring Qatar beyond Doha and other countries nearby, with relaxed easy going people. Finding off beat places to hang out (if that's possible here?!).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hundreds of bats whizzing past my face in a cave in Indonesia.
Teach, Learn, Share
What I could teach (in a discursive, waffled way) an understanding of evolution, science, UK Government and Parliament. Worked on a government project on disaster risk reduction. An absolute beginner a bit of guitar.
What I'd like to learn: The front crawl (so I can do a triathalon). French. My true purpose in life! How to make friends and influence people and be a more relaxed, caring person.
Countries I’ve Visited
Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, India, Indonesia, Oman, Spain, United States
Countries I’ve Lived In
