About Me

I absolutely love the outdoors and spend all my spare time disappearing into the mountains, rain or shine (which in Vancouver usually means rain).

After many years of big international trips, limited vacation days and budget are keeping me a bit closer to home these days. Still very eager to explore new places in North America, though! I am equally comfortable in the backcountry and in a bustling city. I love peering into the nooks and crannies of a new place and discovering things from a local perspective.

Unfortunately my living situation is a bit tough for hosting at the moment, but I am happy to hang out, drive you around, take you camping, hit the breweries. I also do a great walking tour :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Looking to widen my circle and bring this world a little closer together. Strangers have helped me so much during my travels and I'd love to be able to pay it forward.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love American Cinema from the 1940s, as well as French New Wave. Book-wise my tastes are pretty diverse: Murakami, Dickens, Naomi Klein, and always Harry Potter (I'm a Ravenclaw in case you were wondering)

Currently playing: Solange, Lorde, Broken Social Scene, The National, and always Fleetwood Mac.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Scotland and hiked Ben Nevis (UK's highest peak) by myself in the pouring rain, then hitchhiked back into town and went straight to a wedding.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm pretty knowledgeable about college admissions to different institutions here in BC (which I am sure will be helpful to very few people). I am not an amazing cook but I can chop stuff! I also dabble in graphic design and illustration.

I know a bit of French from living in Quebec for a couple of years, but I am always eager to improve my language skills.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversations and good company! Ummm and I can help you with Wordpress stuff or the Adobe suite if you need. I am also rather talented at building IKEA furniture.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, France, Guatemala, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Romania, Singapore, Tanzania, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States
