Overview
About Me
I spent nine months backpacking and staying with locals and now I want to return the favor. Since I have a more stationary job now and can't see as much of the world as I wish, I need to bring the world to me. I studied sociology and English in school so I love talking about social issues, politics, books, and life. I love adventure and exploring new places.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Why wouldn't I be? Getting to stay with people who actually live in the country I am visiting sounds like the best way to visit somewhere and if I can't travel I am going to bring other cultures to me.
Interests
I love everything from adventuring and adrenaline filled activities to staying somewhere quiet and reading a good book. I love talking to people with different view points and insights about politics, social issues, or just life in general. I love to learn so anything you have to tell me about your country would be awesome!

Music, Movies, and Books
Usually I am pulled more towards historical nonfiction or political books but I also love novels. As far as movies and music I like pretty much anything, not at all picky.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am really proud I climbed Mt. Baker in Washington State, USA. It isn't a huge mountain, but it was my first mountaineering experience and it was really hard.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have spent some time as a language tutor and frequently edit resumes or papers for friends who speak English as a second language. If this is you I would be happy to look over anything you want another pair of eyes on. One of my favorite things to do is discuss big ideas in our world and if talking about our world is interesting to you, I can offer a willing companion.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I might be repeating myself but I do truly love sharing discussions about history, politics, everyday life, observations, and travel. I am happy to grab drinks (on me!) and have great discussion. Also, I am always happy to share my help with whatever it may be and of course would do the dishes and easy chores around to lighten the load on my hosts. In addition to this, I think dessert is an essential part of life and any treats I pick up along the way of my travels will happily be shared.
