ABOUT ME

I a mid 20s female from Jamaica, who loves to travel and share unique experiences. Growing up on a small Caribbean island it had always been my dream to travel to world seeing places uniquely different from my home country. I have gone dog sledding in Alaska, Diving in Honduras, Hiking in Costa Rica, shopping in New York City and volcano boarding in Nicaragua . I aim see more amazing places and meet other wonderful people along the way.

As much as I enjoy big cities, I also have a new found appreciation for remote places after spending a week on an island in Lake Nicaragua with no internet and frequent power cuts. It was a fun and interesting experience. I am also extremely fascinated by lakes because we don't really have any of those in Jamaica.

I may seem somewhat reserved when we just meet because I am nervous around new people but I am actually very talkative and once I shake off the nerves I can jump right into any conversation and chat about most topics. I read widely so I can communicate with people I meet from all over.

I am an introvert if that matters, but an outgoing one.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am looking for couches to surf and when I am home in Jamaica I open my home to those who want to visit Kingston and get a true local experience. I like showing people around my city, introducing them to local eats and sites. I appreciate learning from others over a meal or just hanging out.

I recently got the chance to go to my first CS meetup in Guadalajara, Mexico with my host and it was really cool to meet many other people there.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have some experience with staying with friends in different parts of the world.

Since joining this site I have surfed in Costa Rica and Mexico and I have also hosted a surfer from Canada when he came to visit Jamaica.

I am passionate about Books (a have a kindle full), Film and Television (possibly have my sights set on becoming a producer) as these have helped me journey to different worlds.

I have recently gotten into Hiking and Diving. I love big cities and taking walking tours to learn more about the neighborhoods. I like architecture because I believe buildings are a great way to tell the history of a place. I really like going to museums.

Music : I like whatever is usually on the top 40. My musical choices don't run too deep.

Movies : My fav is the Lion King and the Matrix. Also just whatever is one (except horror and maybe comedy). I love to consume visual media. I am a major Sci Fi anf Genre TV geek so I do love come cult classics.

Books - Right now Im running a small business so my interests tend to run in business books. I do enjoy recommendations of good books from others though. I have been interested in writing a Sci Fi novel myself if I get the time.
