About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet new people from all over the world in my year of travel!

ABOUT ME

I'm planning a year long journey throughout Europe, Australia, Bali, Thailand and South Africa to learn about new cultures and lifestyles! I'm super easy going and love adventure!

I grew up all over the New York City area and Northern California, and my family is from Trinidad but now I live in Los Angeles, CA attending USC.

It's hard to just describe myself in text, but I'm all about living a full life, which starts with travel and exchanging ideas with all different kinds of people

About Lorna:

I was born in Canada, lived in Ohio for a while, but consider my home to be the Bay Area ( San Francisco ) California :) My parents are from China so I've grown up in Chinese and American culture. I'm currently also a student in Los Angeles at USC studying Media Arts and Practice with a minor in Computer Science.

I've danced ballet, ran track and enjoy drawing, graphic design and listening to music in my spare time. I'm also very passionate about the environment, healthy food and creating stronger communities!

I love learning and broadening my perspective which is why I'm traveling. I also don't want to travel just as a vacation - but as a learning experience and a chance to meet new people and see how differently people can live and experience the world.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in keeping a positive outlook on life and bringing happiness to others. Do for others as you would do for yourself, and learn as much as possible to be a more well rounded person!

Lorna's Philosophy:
I believe in always keeping an open mind to everything and everyone to constantly expose myself to new ideas and never stop learning and growing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-I've taught ethics to high school students and it was very rewarding and thought provoking

Lorna:

- spent the day on a goat farm in Napa once and it was one of my favorite things I've done, we got to farm, play with the goats, then eat dinner together with the farmer and his family, eating the vegetables we had harvested and butter from the goat's milk. it was so great to eat such fresh foods we had just picked and sit outside with great company enjoying the beautiful scenery of Napa.

- I've travelled a bit before to China, Vienna, Germany, Paris and Taiwan and those have all been amazing experiences being in entirely different cultures, and meeting lots of interesting new people.

- Hopefully traveling this summer travelling will be filled with even more amazing experiences to share about :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been told I have a really positive outlook on life that I love sharing with people. My perspective brings me a lot of happiness and I love to spread that joy to other people.

I'm also studying political science and could share some of the amazing ideas I've learned as well as my knowledge of nutrition :)

---
Lorna:

I have a background in some ballet and a beginning level in drums both of which I would love to share, and I'm fluent in Mandarin Chinese as well! I also love cooking with people and could teach some basic chinese dishes :) Some more technical skills I have that I could share are some basic programming and coding as well as creating graphic designs!
