CURRENT MISSION

An american-british couple leaving on a11 month trip of a lifetime RTW. We are hoping to connect to the places we travel through the people that live there. We embrace our adventure with open mouths, open hearts, and open minds.

ABOUT ME

We are a couple of ordinary people who decided to live an extraordinary life for a year. Last June 2014 we packed up, sold everything, and used our three-years of saving to travel around the world for 11 months.

We are about 9 months into our trip around the world.

We started dreaming about this trip in 2011 when we travelled to Italy together. Shortly after that trip we decided to manifest our dreams and basically bust our humps saving. Three years later we had finally saved enough and here we are.

While Tom got his master degree in Neuroscience, Danielle was teaching and tutoring kids with special needs and selling paintings.

An ideal situation for us would be getting to know relaxed, fun, interesting people and their cities. We truly believe in the power of opening up to people and both avidly interested in learning all that we can.

If you are not available to talk/hang we are looking to be courteous guests in your home that are tidy and quiet (if need be- we can have fun if you are not busy) and completely self-sufficient (read: not in your way).

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Neither of us can host at the moment due to the fact that we will be traveling and no longer have apartments! Location independent.

We can participate by giving great recommendations for places to go in New Orleans, focused especially on amazing food. We will also definitely be hosting once we actually have a home again.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have given many tips for restaurants and things to do in our beloved New Orleans and hope to meet interesting and interested people all over the world.
We have met really cool people through meet ups and surfing their lovely couches.

兴趣

We are both easily pleased and love good food, live music, a beer, and good company. Danielle loves a good book, a strong coffee, and taking photos. Tom really loves beer and is happy try any food once. We love live music and all kinds of festivals.

We love to Scuba dive, are learning to surf , and are nature fanatics. We like to pretend we know how to dance and make fools of ourselves. We love hearing travel stories, hearing about people's lives, and trying new things.

Danielle loves to read and is often found curled up with a book somewhere. Palaniuk, historical non fiction, poetry, anything and everything.

Tom could listen to music all day- Phish, Los Lobos, Todd Snider, Grateful Dead, Umphrey's, etc.

We both like movies a ton but haven't had time to watch them much while travelling except we did see Guardians of the Galaxy and now want a Groot.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

We have been living out of 8kg bags for 9month and we have seen plenty of amazing things. Sleeping in a car in Iceland, Hot air balloon over Kapadodkya, Turkey, roadtripping in Portugal. We've loved it all and we only have two months left.

We are open to learn anything.

Tom knows how to brew beer and blow glass as well as fix many things.
He also knows a ton about brains and neuroscience.
Danielle ia all about child development, art, books, and painting.
We can share our specific knowledge of all things New Orleans- jazz, history, art etc.
