About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the world by train and teach English as a foreign language in Vietnam. From then I shall see where the world takes me!

ABOUT ME

Easy going guy who loves meeting new people and learning about different cultures. No one is a stranger, they're just not my friend yet!

PHILOSOPHY

Don't let Chronos, the Greek god of quantitive time, carry you to your grave in one quick flash. He's the one that let's life pass you by and leaves you with regrets. Look Kairos, the Greek god of qualititive time, in the eye and grab him by his lock of hair. Seize the moment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to make it a 2-way exchange where we both learn about each others beliefs and customs and just our general ways of life! I love cooking for people so if you want to try some English food I'd be more than happy to show you what its like.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of American literature from the 50s and 60s. all time favorite is The Kite Runner. As for movies, something cerebral or a comedy. I like to think or laugh. I tend to listen to a lot of hip-hop, soul, jazz and funk or anything that gets me dancing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went trekking between the beautiful mountain villages of Svaneti, Georgia (without any GPS, stupidly!), when a mountain somehow crept up on me, which I guess is what happens when you walk up a 40 degree incline for several hours. I was knee deep in snow with no path in sight and no sound but the occasional rumble of avalanches in the distance. As the sun started to go down I was terrified I wouldn't make it out alive. For hours and hours I was walking around trying to locate myself on my wet fragmented map. I finally found the path to the next village, and on arrival was welcomed with open arms by a Georgian family who invited me to feast and drink chacha with them until the early hours of the morning.

Teach, Learn, Share

Are you into photography? Maybe I could introduce you to my quirky style.

I can make a decent cup of tea too!
