About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Avoiding going back to England

ABOUT ME

I was born in England but spent most of my childhood abroad (US, Japan) which is probably the reason all I've wanted to do since is travel. I feel like I've done quite a bit or travelling but still have so much to do and I'm working on that now.

I've just finished up two years teaching in Korea, I'd recommend it to anyone but it's time for me to move on. I've rarely stayed anywhere for longer than three years and I've got itchy feet. Currently trying to get proficient enough in Spanish for a long trip from Mexico through to Argentina.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm definitely not a deeply philosophical person. I don't like too much self-reflection. It takes me a while to make decisions but when I do I like to stick at it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm sorry I can't offer anyone a place to stay at the moment but when I've got a place big enough for a couch I'll give it up. Hope to meet a lot more interesting people through the site.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only surfed once at the end of my time in Korea and it was a great experience. Wish I'd known about this site years ago!!!!

Interests

I love eating but I'm not a very good cook. I don't think there's anything you could put in front of me that I wouldn't at least try. Come to think of it I can't think of anything I don't like. Discovering different foods is probably the best part about travelling.

I love sports but haven't really played since I was 18 due to countless knee and ankle injuries. I'd never be able to catch anyone if they mugged me. My football and rugby teams are Crystal Palace and Harlequins respectively.

At the moment the thing I seem to spend a lot of time doing is learning Spanish. At 16 I gave up studying French because I was too lazy and short-sighted to see the benefits. I'm trying to make up for it now.

Music, Movies, and Books

Top 3 movies: The Godfather, The Big Lebowski, Withnail & I

Music: Spend a lot of time listening to reggae.

Books: generally I read non-fiction. I'm a bit of a history geek. Just finished Guns, Germs and Steel which was awesome.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the most impressive thing I've ever seen was Angkor Wat. I worked at Glastonbury Festival for four years too.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll be honest, I don't feel there's much I could teach anyone apart from English and I never had to work to learn it.

I love learning and regret it's taken me so long to release that. I'll try anything.

I'm a pretty open person, happy to share anything.
