About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Find myself and others, establish genuine frienships, have fun and sometimes go wild.
ABOUT ME
My name is Daniel.
I'm originally from Chile, and am 25 years old. I moved to Europe to do my master about three years ago. I've lived one year in Palaiseau (ÃŽle-de-France, near Paris) as I was studying at Ãâ°cole Polytechnique, lived in Zurich as I was at ETH Zurich, and one year in Geneva as I was doing my master thesis at CERN.
As you see, I have quite experience on socializing with people from different cultural backgrounds, and adapting to changes and new cities. I've learnt a lot from living in different cities with different people, it's been fun! Couchsurfing is an experience on this same path!
Currently I'm living in Paris, moved here to spend summer, have fun and visit friends before moving to Heidelberg as I'll do my Ph.D. in there.
I speak Spanish, as native language, and English and French fluently. I really like dancing, in Geneva I discovered the contemporary dance and practiced it for a while before moving out. I dance Salsa too and especially Kizomba -latin and african dances. I like a lot literature as well, the last book I read is 'Les liaisons dangereuses'.
I enjoy travelling as well. I've travelled in South America, visiting most part of Chile -all the north until Chiloe in the south, I've been to Peru -of course Machu Picchu and many cities I feel lazy to list :), to Bolivia -La Paz, Salar de Uyuni, festival de Oruro, etc, lazy-, to the south of Brasil -Iguazu falls, etc-, to Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina. I'd love to visit now the north of South America, Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela. I've travelled a lot as well in Europe: Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, England, etc -too lazy again to list :)
I'm open, easy going, I enjoy meeting new people, going to bars, spending a nice time on terrase, at an apéro, etc.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By now, by hosting people! Later on, perhaps by couchsurfing :)
Now I'm living in the 14ème in a sharing flat -I'm living with a friendly french girl. There's a big living room with two couches and one of them can be stretched into a bed. I can host two people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
You know, at the beginning I didn't have on mind to make a couchsurfing profile. I've heard of it as my sister is really involved in it and enjoys hosting and meeting people from everywhere, she's really friendly and nice :) She always encouraged me to join Couchsurfing but I neved did it -lazy. And well, a few days ago (July 2013) I was hanging out on le quai de la Loire, in Paris, with two friends and their friends. These two friends, really involved in couchsurfing, were hosting a guy and a girl from Quebec. The guy had no place where to stay his last night in Paris, so I invited him to stay in my place, and he did. And then I thought, why not to join couchsurfing? You know, I had good references, so that's how I made up my mind and joined you guys ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sunrise in Llingua, Chiloe. It was an ineffable experience, I can't describe it. It was like the birth of life, I felt full of energy and inspiration.
I took a tour through Salar de Uyuni, acid lakes, near boundary with Chile, where there're geysers, etc. I don't remember now the exact spot, but we saw a Sunrise that was in fact a sunset time backwards. It was like going back from death to life, like a kind of resurrection.
