ABOUT ME

Living in Sao Paulo, the heart of Brazilian's economical and cultural life. Reaching the 30's, I'm a PostGrad Music student at the University of Sao Paulo.I like to sing and to play the piano, as well as try to play another instruments. My musical practice also takes place when I'm up the podium, as a conductor. I'm always in love with many kinds of art and places. I like to visit museums, art galleries and, strange as it may seem, soccer stadiums! Even being very busy with my work, I always can find time to do something different or to have a good time talking to someone or going out for a walk.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm still learning about CS, but I expect to participate surfing, hosting and meeting people to show my city.I live with my brother, and, altough I work a lot, I can manage time to have a drink and for travelling or hanging around Sao Paulo.

Music, Movies, and Books

Specially Classical Music from the XX and XXI centuries, like H. Villa-Lobos, O. Messiaen, P. Boulez, T. Murail and G. Grisey. Also a particular interest for music by W.A. Mozart, L. Beethoven, R. Wagner and C. Debussy.But not only these ones! I also like to listen to rock and folk music, blues, samba and tango. In short, well-made music!I think that some of the movies by Mr. C. Chaplin and S. Kubrick are among the great achievements of art in the last century. I also like some stuff by W. Allen and, on the "dark side of my moon", the movies made by Lars von Trier. I love to read, and during the last years I have dedicated myself to the books written by Julio Cortázar and Guimarães Rosa, a brazilian genious. I also like brazilian and portuguese poetry (in example, Drummond de Andrade and Fernando Pessoa). I don't like art that serves merely as entertainment.The last books I've read were the first two volumes of Proust's À la recherche du temps perdu.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Admiring for a long time big mammals such as elephants, rhinos and whales. Isn't it amazing that we share the same time and space on Earth with such wonderful creatures? Keep staring a the sea or at a night just brighten by the stars... A lot of amazing things happens to us when we keep our eyes wide open. Also, every single time I'm on a podium facing a young orchestra - of interesting musicians with a hunger for making really good music in group - I feel myself completely amazed.

Teach, Learn, Share

I play the piano a little, so, there's something I could share with people - although I'm not a teacher. I love when I can share some music stuff with people who are interested. Listening and sharing information about opera, for example, is one of my passions. I like to study languages (such as French or German). Different kinds of music and other kinds of art also interests me very very much, as well as topics in local history and geography of the places I'd like to be.
