About Me
CURRENT MISSION: Move to San Francisco
I was born and raised in a small town in Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point a few years ago. Since then I've been traveling and living on the East Coast (Rochester NY -> Raleigh NC -> Norfolk VA), but now it's time to "settle down" so to speak.
I'm moving to San Francisco in August in search of long term employment, and an apartment in the heart of the city.
I've been told that I'm a great room mate. I always clean up after myself (especially dishes), and I always try to do just a little bit more to help out around the house than expected. Personality wise, I am considerate, friendly, and very outgoing. I love to meet new people and have new experiences!
PHILOSOPHY
I'm a lifelong learner (yes I’m aware of how corny that phrase is). Not to worry, corn is good for the ears. Basically, I’m always striving to improve myself (and my dad jokes) by learning new things, having new experiences, and meeting new people.
Okay, lastly, my answer to "life, the universe, and everything". These are the experiences I value most, and what I try to balance as well as possible in my own life.
• Connecting with People (family, friends, romance, colleagues, and EVERYONE I MEET!!!)
• Building a Healthy Body
• Finding Pride and Passion in my Work
• Having FUN!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm trying to start my new social circle. In the past, it's taken me about a month to build up a good group of friends in each of the cities I've lived in, but I'm really hoping to speed that process up this time around. I've gotten much more outgoing and sociable in the last few years and I'm trying to start my San Francisco adventures with a bang!
I'd really like to stay on the couch of someone I can be friends with, and can offer insight on which neighborhoods to explore before I decide on one for my apartment.
Also, I'm trying to save a few bucks while searching for a new job.
Interests
I love games. I will play anything with anyone. Board games, card games, sports games, drinking games, and especially video games.
The greatest thing about video games is that they are comprised of other interesting art forms, mainly music, animation, graphic design, mathematics, and art. All of those I love!... except for math :p
Design and Game Design specifically is my main shtick.
Music is one of the most fun things to work on. I play a little guitar, a little piano, and even though I’m not very skilled, I still enjoy myself. I’m in the same boat with writing. I’m a jack of all trades, and a master of none.
Project leadership is where I really shine. I like to bring people together to create cool stuff. I’m interested in psychology, team dynamics, and I love it when a plan comes together.
Outside of games, I also enjoy… stuff. Rock climbing, reading, live music, new foods, running, hiking, and learning about science, invention, and different cultures. I really enjoy just talking, and getting to know people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’m a game designer, and my crowning achievement so far has been completing a video game I worked my ass off on. It’s called Black Bow and it’s a stealth action archery game. It’s free to play, so check it out if you’re interested!

What I Can Share with Hosts
Beyond the normal stories, and conversations, I really like to give back to my hosts in a tangible way.
If I stay with you for a considerable length of time, I can clean your entire apartment for your for free. Let me say that again in caps. I WILL CLEAN YOUR APARTMENT FOR YOU.
Beyond that, I preform simple tasks like doing dishes and cooking meals, and I’d be happy to do that kind of thing as well. In fact, it seems only fair that I help you out in exchange for your hospitality.
Phewww! I think that about covers it. Thanks so much for reading! Looking forward to meeting you!
