About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoying life and getting to know people from all over the world and different cultures.

I am usually a quiet person, but enjoy going out and having a nice beer and/or glass of wine. I find that one of the best things about traveling is getting to know new people and finding out about their experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to experience new cultures, and meeting new people. I usually travel alone, and Couchsurfing is a great, fun way to get to know the best places to go and meeting interesting people while traveling.
As a host, it is also great to be able to share my love for Lisbon with visitors!

Interests

When traveling, one of the things I enjoy the most is eating local dishes and sampling the local cuisine as much as possible. I have eaten pretty much everything, and am always interested in trying something different! I also enjoy running/trail running. My last ultra-marathon was in 2015...in 2016 I am taking things easier, but still run a few times every week. I am also a huge history fan, and enjoy visiting museums and historical sites wherever I travel. I never say no to a good beer and a glass of wine either.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy almost all kinds of music, but blues and rock are particular favorites. I am also an avid reader, although as a Ph.D. student I have less time to read books non-related to my area of research than I would like. Still, I enjoy reading books on matters that discuss some of my interests, such as food, history, and historical fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some people have done truly amazing things...I don't really think anything I have done can be described that way...I still have a few years left, though!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always looking to learn more about the culture from where other people come from, or from where they have traveled. I also enjoy learning about their countries/regional history, and cuisine. Overall, I like to share and talk about past experiences and future goals!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am always willing to share my past travel experiences and talk about our common interests with my hosts. I love learning about new stuff, so am always eager to listen to others speak about where they went and what they did/do.
