ABOUT ME

I would describe myself as a maker, struggling at that but what i make in the world defines my relationship with it. I try to be the best me i can be and have bags of fun almost all the time. i think tossing myself in the deep end of the pool gets my lazy brain to places where it can thrive and expand.

PHILOSOPHY

you don't know til you go, most people out there are doing what makes sense to them, too many times i've taken other peoples word for things, failed to see from an others perspective, so now i try to keep a pretty loose worldview. work hard, feel good, beware the naysayers n such.

big rocks to move and big trees to chop. finding effective ways to properly perforate the back of my disposable coffee lid, peeling banannas without mushing them, throwing items at the shelf so they land properly, cooking food i can be excited about, finding the motivation to do productive things, working at jobs i like, i seem to keep finding them. skiing, long walks, hiking on occasion though i will say if there isn't skiing or a paycheck involved it has to be a pretty exciting hike, hanging out with awesome people, of course, is the main thing. all that and axes, axes are a pretty big deal to me. axes and sweet sunsets. it would really be safe to say trains and fuzzy kitties and tasty beer deserve a mention. otherworldly places and people are really swell too.

pacific rim might have been the last movie i ever needed to see, i'm trying to pursue real literacy but for a while there i kept to the strict principle of not reading anything without dragons in it, the wind in the willows has been my favorite book since i was about six, recently working my way through james clavells asia saga, sometimes a great notion is a great book, i like the great gatsby and sherlock holmes. for music i listen to a lot of the steeldrivers, deep chatham, mgmt, Carolina chocolate drops, Roscoe Holcomb, allman brothers, brown bird, fleet foxes, creedence, really anything i've been without an ipod for a long time.
