CURRENT MISSION
To set up an Edible Plant Nursery! WWOOFERS WANTED
ABOUT ME
Hi there.
I live with my lady Iona & our puppy Bhodi. At the moment we have just set up a small Plant nursery & Woodwork shop on our 1/5 acre property. We sell at local farmers markets & we are preparing to set up the property as an ever-so-wee garden center. We have a lovely garden & ongoing room for improvement...
We are not yet certified Organic, so we are using this site to advertise for wwoofers. (hope you dont mind)
I myself have my own experiences of wwoofing & managing wwoofers on other farms - So I have become quite judgmental of poor wwoofing situations, accommodations, and so-called "Fair" exchanges. It's to this awareness that I invite you to come stay and experience with us this summer. I want to make sure that your stay here will actually be comfortable, enjoyable & that you will leave having learned something useful to you, while offering a fair exchange.
I want to try out a 'project based' wwoofing experience. I suppose this means being able to come stay with us, decide on your length of stay & take on a small project that suits you, your abilities & your inspirations. This way you are not just doing odd jobs for us, but can feel like you learned something and contributed something during your stay which you will be remembered by. Some projects we have on the go are listed below. Some will take 1 day, an afternoon, a week, etc. Either way - Iona & myself are here to teach you how to go about these small projects or to just let you go at - Wherever you're at :)
- Build a Rockery beside our wee pond.
- Re-build a 'proper' compost system
- Plant up our raised beds
- Paint the little shed
- Plant up a newly formed mound.
- Create the greatest Canadian Outdoor fireplace in Ireland!
- Plant a willow hedge
- Plant up a willow coppice (winter is best time)
- Create a willow half-dome around the outdoor bathtub
- chopping wood
..... and the list goes on
But don't feel pressurized! Your more than welcome to come by and simple help out with a little care for our plants if that suits ya. Length of stay depends on our schedule - But at we ask for at least 3 days and no more than 2 weeks. (unless the room is open and its working for everyone)
But simply put - we have a beautiful site, we are honest & a hard working couple, & we need some help this summer.
So if you are looking to get your hands dirty give us a call. If you just want to check out the area without any work exchange, we have some great friends who are on couch surfing all around our community here.
Hope you see you either way,
Daniel
oh - you can find us on facebook.
Check out 'Cambium Edible-Gardens'
There you can read up on the business & see pics of the site.

Teach, Learn, Share
"When does the student become the Teacher"... I've been within ongoing conversation with a good friend about this. About where to lay your focus... in becomming the student or becomming the teacher?.....
Sometimes I want to just know, what there is to know, jump through the hoops, and just be the wiser, full of experience. But again, it's within the process...
Embracing the "student" or the "teacher" - I feel the importance to be able to switch on and off at this point in my life. To teach is to share & to learn ongoing. The balance of both is the virtue.
