One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was once backpacking in Grand Gultch, Mesa Verde Utah. I slept under the stars everynight. The stars were so bright and so vivid, that when I woke up periodically throughout the night I could see how the milky way had moved across the sky. I would find myself trying to guess the time by how far the stars had moved across the sky each time I woke. Most beautiful night skies I have ever seen.
I once watched a sunset from the porch of my cabin. As I sat there and watched the bright orange sunset, I saw millions of parachute spiders floating across the mounatin ranges. All I saw was the reflection of the sun off the silk. The sky was sparkling. When the sun finally was hidden behind the mountains, the sparkling silky parachute spiders we invisible, like a light being turned off. It was one of the most moving things I have ever seen.
