Overview
About Me
I am an optimist!! "Don't ruin a good today by thinking about a bad yesterday. Let it go"!!
(I am an easy going and low-maintenance kind of guy, who loves meeting new people!! : )
**Ou em Português: "E se à porta humildemente bate alguém,
Senta-se à mesa com a gente."
P.S. : The best time to visit us in Florida is mid-October through mid-May because of "storm season". About me and my roommates: My male roommate has studied German, and my female roommate has studied French. However, please understand, that language classes at our university focus on reading and writing languages rather than conversational skills. We are suppose to improve our "conversational skills" through volunteering with NGO's, attending "Study Abroad" educational programs, or hosting "exchange students", etc.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
**There is also an Irish proverb that can be translated roughly from, as Gaelige, into English as follows: "A stranger is just a friend you have yet to meet!!" In other words, I am here to make new friends and become a better world citizen!! : )
I like traveling other lands and then learning from their cultures. ( I love my Country dearly; but, we do not have a monopoly as far as creativity, culture, cuisine, etc.). I like hosting decent people and showing them that the U.S. is populated by decent people that aren't interested in "taking over the world" militarily, culturally, or linguistically. We care about the same things most people do- Family & Friends. <3

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just one!? 1) Cave diving. 2. Rode every roller coaster at "Busch Gardens". 3) Helped show a Deaf individual our world-class white sand beaches; our "Latin Quarter" (Ybor City); and our amusement parks in the area (Disney, Universal, Sea World, Busch Gardens, etc.). Also took him to our local Celtic Festival & Highland games ( I am a dual citizen of the EU (Ireland) and EUA (USA). [ I had a Deaf grandfather so I know "American Sign Language" and love the "People of the Eye" very much!! <3]
Teach, Learn, Share
LEARNING: I am extremely curious about the universe and our place in it; and, what others have to say on that subject!! : )
TEACHING: I do not consider myself an expert on any subject; I am and will always be a student no matter how many professional degrees I am eventually awarded!! : )
SHARING: Being from an Irish family, and being a member of a local Celtic Heritage Society, I can share traditions and culture with you. Our society promotes Celtic music, dance, games, etc. If you are a member of one of the 7 Celtic nations ( Brittany/FR (Breizh), Cornwall/UK (Kernow), Wales/UK (Cymru), Scotland/UK (Alba), Ireland (Éire), Spain (parts of Galicia & Asturias), and the Isle of Man (Mannin)) OR just curious, then you may be interested. To let me know you have actually read my profile, please insert the phrase "slán abhaile" in your request to me. It is a little Gaelic blessing to all my couchsurfing friends!!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Love of Family...Friends...Life...the "whole enchilada"!! I live in a home with three other (2 guys & 1 girl) professional students pursuing advanced degrees. If we have a party, then you will be our guest. If you want to use our heated, screened in pool for exercise, then you have our permission to do that. If you want to use our screened in patio to relax or converse, then that's fine!! : ) If you want to use it to get "arse-faced" drinking alcohol, then your visit will abruptly end!! ( In our house we drink socially, not to get "pissed"!!) N.B.: The best time to visit, if you want us to show you around, is during the June & July Academic Holidays. (As far as weather, the best time to visit is December through April.) Anyway, when we are accepting "surfers", you will have an air-conditioned bedroom with high-speed broadband to keep in touch with family or friends back home. (If you prefer to "rough it", then there is a futon with your "name" on it!?) In case you have some questions while visiting us, we have a pre-paid mobile phone with a local SIM card and minutes that you can borrow. If you like birds, then you will love this area!! (We are on a bird migration route and often see Egrets, Ibis, Heron, Cranes, Roseate Spoonbills, etc.)
